About Demopendium
The Demopendium logo, depicting a globe with lines connecting from one country to another, representing the platform's emphasis on connection between people.
Demopendium is a structural archive for everyday human history and interpersonal connection.
Traditional genealogy platforms catalog government records of the deceased. Modern social media platforms trap the living in algorithmic, infinite-scroll feeds designed for advertising. Demopendium exists in the missing middle: it is a neutral, permanent historical record built for everyday people—local mechanics, community organizers, teachers, and family members.
Core Philosophy
- Utility over Engagement: There are no variable rewards, no like counts, and no algorithmic feeds. Demopendium is an archival tool built strictly for preservation and reading.
- Universal Notability: Every human life, regardless of fame, wealth, or public status, qualifies for a historical entry.
- Archival Stability: The platform rejects modern web bloat. The interface is inspired by classic, structured wikis, utilizing a clean, high-information-density layout. Information is categorized and stable, never buried under a timeline.
Platform Rules & Privacy
To protect the community and maintain a reliable, safe archive, Demopendium enforces strict guidelines on all contributors:
- The Under-18 Rule: Anyone under the age of 18 is strictly prohibited from creating or maintaining their own page. Because they are minors, their personal histories and present activities are shielded from the public archive.
- Family Entries: Pages for minors may only exist as locked "Family Entries" created by a verified parent or guardian. These entries must not contain identifiable location data.
- Neutral Point of View: All biographies must be written from a neutral, historical perspective. This applies even when documenting your own direct family members.
Architecture
Demopendium maps human history through relationships rather than isolated profiles.
- Profiles: Every person, community project, or family lineage acts as a standalone article.
- Connections: Relationships are explicitly defined (e.g., Parent, Sibling, Collaborator) to automatically generate living family trees and community graphs.
- Design Language: The visual identity relies on classic archival standards—deep grays, eggshell whites, Serif fonts for authoritative headings, and crisp Sans-Serif for readable body text.
